Blue and Red Banded Thunderegg Agate

A banded thunderegg agate, 2.3 inches and 4 ounces, in vivid red and blue. Thundereggs form inside volcanic ash beds, filling from the outside in - which is why a plain rounded nodule opens onto a patterned core like this one.

Agate is long associated with grounding and emotional balance in crystal-lore traditions. Each thunderegg is unique in its banding.
