Fortification Banded Agate Geode

A fortification banded agate geode out of Mexico, with the sharp angular layering that gave fortification agate its name wrapped all the way around a crystal interior. The layers step in toward the middle like the walls of a little fort, and that is the whole fun of turning it over in your hand. Agate is a stone of focus and clarity, and the banding and color here are unique to this geode. This piece measures about 1.7 in wide.
