Fossilized Palm Wood

Fossilized palm wood, 5.5 inches, from the river deposits of Texas. The distinctive rod-and-dot structure of palm trunk is still visible in the stone - a record of a tree that stopped being wood a very long time ago.

A striking conversation piece for a shelf or desk, and a favorite among fossil collectors.
