This is the rock that marks gold country all across the Sierra foothills, so a prospector would have looked twice at it and so will you. It is genuinely heavy, and that is part of the point; set it out on a desk or a shelf and it stays exactly where you put it. Mariposite is a stone of renewal and steadiness. Color and pattern are unique to this piece. This natural specimen measures about 10 inches wide.
