Large Vintage Mexican Tonalá Pottery Oval Serving Platter

Two stylized birds sit among the flowers on this vintage Tonala platter, all of it hand painted in warm reddish brown over a cream earthenware glaze, and the little wobbles in the linework are how you know a person did this and not a machine. It is a big, beautiful example of the folk pottery Tonala is known for. Hang it on a wall, lean it on a shelf, or fill it and set it in the middle of the table. Please note: it carries its original impressed mold marks and the natural variation you expect in a vintage piece. This platter measures about 25" long x 18" wide.
