“Oyate Nimkte Wacin Yelo” Original Oil Painting by Jillana Marshall – Big Bear Artist Wall Art 22.5x18

Oyate Nimkte Wacin Yelo is an original oil painting by Jillana Marshall, a Native American rider on horseback before a mountain, with a stream running through the background. She works in all mediums, mostly watercolor and oil, and she is one of our own. She grew up right here in Big Bear Lake riding horses year round, skiing all winter, and fishing the lake all summer, with both her parents feeding the gift early. After Art Center College she came home and took commissions for family portraits and interior work for Snow Summit and Big Bear Mountain Ski, the local Sizzler, the Municipal Water District, and the fighter Oscar De La Hoya. She earned her California teaching credential from the University of Redlands in the mid 1990s, taught high school art and ceramics for 25 years, and retired in 2018. She still lives here, coaches part time for the Youth Snow Summit Race Team, and much of her work hangs at the Wild Coyote Gallery in the Village. This painting measures 22.5 x 18 inches, and you will want it where you can see it every day.
