"Oyate Nimkate Wacin Yelo" is an original oil painting by Jillana Marshall, depicting a Native American on horseback before a mountain, with a stream flowing in the background. Jillana works in all mediums, but you will find most of her work is done in watercolors and oils.

She is a local well know artist who grew up in beautiful Big Bear Lake, California, where her creative gift was nourished at an early age by both her parents. She grew up living the outdoor mountain girl life. Riding horses all year round, skiing in the winter, summers spent fishing and playing in the cool waters of Big Bear Lake. After graduation, Jillana attended Art Center College. It is known that Jillian soon returned to the mountains she loved and she began being commissioned for family portraits and custom interior design work featuring many local business and corporations she along with her parents grew up patronizing ~ including Snow Summit/ Big Bear Mountain Ski, the local Sizzler Restaurant , Municipal Water District, and famous fighter Oscar De La Hoya.

After receiving her California teaching credential in the mid 90's from the University of Redlands, Jillana taught High School art and ceramics for 25 years retiring in 2018. Jillana currently reside in Big Bear Lake, where she continues to nourish her love of the winter mountain skiing by part-time coaching for the new generation of local Youth Snow Summit Race Team. Throughout her Jillian's life she continues to paint and many of her current and past work is on display in the Wild Coyote Gallery in the Village of Big Bear Lake, California.
