Petrified Wood Slab from New Mexico - 6 in

This petrified wood slab came out of New Mexico and has been cut and finished so you can read the grain and the ring structure right in the face of the stone, with mineral color locked in where the wood used to be. Every slab was a different tree that fell in a different place and took up a different chemistry, which is exactly why no two ever look alike. Stand it on a shelf, lay it on a desk, or add it to a fossil collection. This slab measures about 6 in wide.
