Antique 1900s Hickory Wood Skis with Metal Plate Bindings and Poles - 78 in

These antique hickory skis are 78 inches long, fitted with metal plate-style bindings that have rusted through years of use out on the local trails, and two metal poles come along with them, just as well used, with all the straps still intact and in good condition. Hickory was what the early ski makers reached for because it is dense and springy and stubborn about breaking, which is exactly why a set like this is still here a century later. The owner dates them to the 1900s. Stand them in the corner by the door of your chalet or run them up the wall over a fireplace and they tell the whole story of the mountain. The rust and wear came with the years, so please look through the photos.
